Automated Super Payments with Beam in Payroo
You can easily pay employee super contributions directly to any registered super fund in Australia using Payroo’s inbuilt integration with Beam Super Clearing House.
With Beam, there is no need to access an external portal — all super payment processing can be managed directly within Payroo using one secure login.
Prerequisites
Before registering for Automated Super Payments, ensure:
Your business is on a Standard Payroll or Premium Payroll plan
STP setup is completed
Business ABN details are correct
Employee super details have been reviewed
Employee TFN and DOB details are complete
Getting Started with Automated Super Payments
To use this feature, you must first register your business with Beam.
The registration process includes:
Business details
Business address
Contact details
Payment method setup
Default super fund setup
Terms & Conditions acceptance
Register Your Business for Automated Super Payments
Step 1 — Open Features
Step 2 — Upgrade Payroll Plan
If you are currently on the Basic Payroll plan:
Click Upgrade Plan
You will be redirected to the Subscription Plans page
Select:
Standard Payroll
orPremium Payroll
Click Confirm
Note
If your business is already on Standard or Premium Payroll, proceed directly to Step 3.
Step 3 — Register with Beam
Click:
Register with Beam
You will now be redirected to the Beam onboarding setup wizard.
Important Information
Any time you access the Beam interface to make changes, you must progress through to the end of the wizard and click:
Back to Payroo
If you do not complete the final step, the information may not sync back to Payroo successfully.
Beam Registration Process

to begin the registration process.
Step 1 — Business Details
Review and confirm:
Business/company details
Business address
Contact details
These details are automatically prefilled from your Payroo business settings.
Click Next to continue.
Step 2 — Payment Method & Details
Beam supports 3 payment methods:
Direct Debit
EFT
BPAY
The payment method can be selected when submitting super payment batches.
Option 1 — EFT / BPAY
If you do not intend to use Direct Debit:
Select:
No
Click Next
With this option:
Payments will need to be completed manually through internet banking
Option 2 — Direct Debit
If you intend to use Direct Debit:
Select:
Yes
Enter the bank account details
Save the details
Click Next
With this option:
Beam can automatically debit super payments once submitted
Notes on Payment Methods
Beam transactions may appear in bank statements as:
Precision CH
orPrecision Administration Services Pty Ltd
Refund Bank Details
If a super payment is:
Unprocessed
Failed
Rejected
Refunded by a super fund
the refunded amount will be returned to the configured refund bank account.
Step 3 — Default Super Fund
Australian law requires employers to pay Super Guarantee (SG) contributions even if an employee has not selected a super fund.
In these cases, employers must use a default super fund.
Option 1 — Use Australian Retirement Trust
If you would like to use:
Australian Retirement Trust
as your default fund:
Select:
Select Australian Retirement Trust
If selected:
An Australian Retirement Trust employer account may automatically be created for your business if one does not already exist
Option 2 — Search for Your Own Default Fund
If you do not wish to use Australian Retirement Trust:
Select:
I'd prefer to search for a different default fund
Search using:
Fund Name
ABN
USI
Select the fund from the search results
You may configure more than one default fund if required.
Australian Retirement Trust Participating Employer Option
Even if Australian Retirement Trust is not selected as your default fund, you may still choose to become a participating employer.
This allows businesses to:
Create member accounts on behalf of employees when required
To enable this:
Select:
Register me as an Australian Retirement Trust participating employer
This option is optional.
Important Information About Employer Nominated Funds
When using an employer nominated fund:
Leave the employee member number blank if one does not yet exist
When the first super contribution is processed:
The member account may automatically be created
The member number may automatically update within the employee record
This applies to:
Australian Retirement Trust
Other participating default super funds
Step 4 — Terms & Conditions
There may be up to 3 Terms & Conditions sections depending on your selected setup.

Confirm acceptance by selecting the checkbox
Australian Retirement Trust Terms & Conditions
If you selected Australian Retirement Trust as:
A default fund
orA participating employer
you must also:
Read and accept the Australian Retirement Trust Terms & Conditions
Direct Debit Terms & Conditions
If Direct Debit has been configured:
Read and accept the Direct Debit Authority Terms & Conditions
Once all required Terms & Conditions have been accepted:
Click Next
Registration Complete
Congratulations — your Beam registration is now complete.

to return to Payroo.
Registration Outcome
After returning to Payroo:
Super Batches will be enabled
Pay Super functionality becomes available within payruns
Default super fund settings will automatically sync into Payroo

Important
If Direct Debit has already been configured:
Refund bank details may not be editable
Beam may automatically use the verified debit account for refunds
